The Court of Appeals announced new decisions today:
- People v. Mattocks (Ct. App. 4/30/2009) (Graffeo, J.) - purposefully bending an MTA MetroCard in order to obtain a free fare constitutes a forgery.
- People v. Goldstein (Ct. App. 4/30/2009) (Lippman, C.J.) - the defendant was not misinformed about the only real benefit of his guilty plea (concurrent vs. consecutive sentences) and his allocution was not defective with respect to certain counts.
- People v. Aleman (Ct. App. 4/30/2009) - new trial ordered because of coercive deadlock charge given
